100 (Nantwich) Sqn Air Training Corps

Sports

The Air Cadets offers a broad range of sporting activities to cadets, allowing you to represent your Squadron, Wing, Region, and even go all the way to represent the Corps in the national competitions against Army and Sea Cadets. 100 (Nantwich) Squadron has done very well in recent years with various cadets being awarded Corps Blues, an award for representing the Corps.

The Air Cadets also offers RAF-run courses for both cadets and staff to gain qualifications in such things as Community Sports Leader Course, Athletics Officials, Rugby and Netball Referees. Famous sportsmen such as Linford Christie, Rory Underwood and Geoff Capes are all former Air Cadets.

Athletics

The Staffordshire Wing Inter-Squadron Athletics Competition is held each year between the Squadrons in Staffordshire Wings, and covers most of the track and field events.

Athletics is split into the following categories with trophies awarded for each: Class 'A' Boys, Class 'B' Boys, Class 'C' Boys, Junior Girls, and Senior Girls. There is also a trophy for Overall Winners, this being the main prize.

Team Sports

In the ATC sports are a key area. In cadets we participate in Rugby and Football for males and Netball and Hockey for females. Both have junior and senior classes and are participated in from local to national levels.

Cross-Country

This is another key even within the sports of the ATC. It is held annually with participants of all ages competing against other cadets in the wing. From here they then continue onto Regional and potentially Corps (National) level.
